I remember walking down the hair aisle at Clicks about 6 years back, reading ingredients on hair products and longing for Clicks to come through for us naturals. Fast forward to 2018 and Clicks not only stocks a variety of hair products, they also have their very own hair care line – Clicks Afri True Naturals.
I received a box of Afri True Naturals products and you know when some new products come your way, wash day is imminent.
The True Clicks Afri True Naturals Range
These bottles are so bright and bold, you’re not going to miss them on the shelves at all. They’re yellow, orange and green and they scream of Summer, Summer, Summer time.
They come in at under R70 each, so if you’re buying this on the highly popular Clicks 3 for 2 special, you score big time!
The range consists of a shampoo, conditioner, curl creme and hydrating gel. Like every other naturalista out there, I felt this box lacked a leave in conditioner. Because leave-in conditioner is life. Let’s hope Clicks surprises us with one soon.
A Quick Review on Afri True
Afri True Naturals shampoo (R62.99) works really well at clarifying your hair after weeks of build up. I was into day 21 (don’t judge), so you can imagine that my hair was really oily and dirty. A little bit of this shampoo got my hair back to squeaky clean in no time. The shampoo is best used once a month for an exceptionally clean, guilt free wash.
The Afri True Natural conditioner (R69.99) quickly softened up my hair. It works really well with the shampoo and I even kept it on for an extra hour to deep condition my hair.I am not going to go into to much detail about the Curl Power Curl Creme (R49.99) , because I did a video on it that you can view below: (read to the end of this blog post before watching the video)
*Note: The Curl Power creme contains mineral oils. Use a clarifying shampoo, like the Afri True Naturals shampoo afterwards*
Now let me say it out straight – I am not a gel person. My hair does something very weird when it comes to gel, but I must say that I am really enjoying using the gel in this range. I’ve been using the Afri True Naturals hydrating gel (R49.99) on soaking wet hair. I feel the more moisture I use with the gel, the better it performs. I’m even enjoying twisting my hair again. Check it out!
If you’re searching for hair products within your budget, contain coconut and shea butter, smells of Summer and don’t contain sulphates or parabens; then I would definitely recommend you give Clicks Afri True Naturals a go.
